Sweet Garleek Tin

Love the flavor. Put them in a fancy grilled cheese. I'll probably chop them up next time I use them, but will definitely order again soon!

This hybrid Allium has all the flavor of their genus (which includes onions, shallots, scallions and chives as well as garlic and leeks) but none of its pungency. It gives a strong undercurrent savory tone to omelets, salad dressings, soups, tarts, risottos and other dishes. It works best as a complement to a stronger flavor rather than as the dominant taste.

Absolutely lovely product. The dijon flavor of the garleek tins felt like I was back in Paris. It's the perfect combination of acid, salt and herby sweetness from the leeks. Perfect to throw on salads, sandwiches and a great picnic addition for the upcoming warmer months. A new staple in my pantry.

I bought a tin from Whole Foods, and I've also grown garleek at home. The tinned garleek is very delicious, especially on toasted crusty bread. I think the price point is definitely high, but it's great for the occasional splurge.
