Thank you for your interest! At this time, we are not accepting visitors, but please subscribe to our newsletter to learn about Row 7 events.
The name Row 7 is a nod to the seventh row of the periodic table. When scientists conceived the modern periodic table, they left blank spaces in the seventh row—placeholders for elements yet to be discovered. We hope to bring the same spirit of discovery to the food system, starting with its most basic element: seeds.
All of our seeds available for sale are certified organic according to USDA standards. We are committed to building the capacity for organic seed production in the U.S. and to developing new varieties that thrive in organic systems. Learn more about our seeds here.
No. Certified organic always means non-GMO, so the organic label speaks for itself! But it’s worth asking: why not GMO? We believe that the most flavorful and resilient plant varieties are best created by working with the full genetic heritage of a crop. We utilize time-proven techniques of cross-pollination and selection complemented by modern technology, but we draw a clear line at genetic engineering. It doesn’t advance the changes we seek in the food system, and it’s never produced anything truly delicious.
Seed is a crop, too, and where they are grown matters. Currently, all of our seeds are grown in the U.S. You can find out exactly where in the “Details” section of our product pages. Learn more about our seeds here.
Our team is always expanding. Please send us a note at jobs@row7seeds.com for current openings
New York-based artist Leanne Shapton collaborated with the Row 7 team to create original artwork for the website and packets, inspired by our varieties. Please visit her website here.

Detailed growing instructions for our varieties can be found on our website’s product pages or under Grow, and our team is also on hand to offer veggie tech support. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with growing questions.
Answer: We support growers’ rights to save seed on their own farms, but you should consider whether the variety is open pollinated or a hybrid. Open-pollinated varieties are genetically stable and will reproduce true-to-type. Hybrid varieties are first-generation crosses and are not genetically stable. Should you choose to save seed and replant it, plants in the next generation will look different from one another—and from the F1 hybrid. For consistent results, growers should purchase new hybrid seed. (Or save seed and start a delicious breeding project of your own!) For companies interested in commercial production or breeding of our varieties, please contact us at info@row7seeds.com.
We recommend storing seeds someplace cool, dark and dry.
